Alicante is a dynamic city, superbly located on the shores of the Mediterranean, under the protection of Mount Benacantil. It is a cosmopolitan city of Spanish women from all over the country and from a very important French-speaking community.

The French high school is located in El Campello.

Alicante enjoys a very pleasant climate, with mild winters and hot summers, and an average temperature of 18 degrees. You swim from May to November with more than 300 days of sunshine per year.

Playa San Juan is the largest and quietest beach, a paradise of fine sand and clear waters. It is the most famous beach and very appreciated by the inhabitants of Alicante. This huge sandy beach extends from the beaches of Campello to Cabo de la Huerta.

The city invites you to get lost along the palm-lined waterfront promenades and in the parks that enjoy neat vegetation.

Parallel to the central port of Alicante, you will discover the famous Explanada de España where craftsmen exhibit all year round. A riverside promenade lined with palm trees, it is composed of millions of tiny marble tiles, all arranged to resemble the characteristics of ocean waves.

As you enter the old town, you will experience the Mediterranean atmosphere of the picturesque Santa Cruz district, where the castle walls are surrounded by narrow streets that lead to natural viewpoints.

Many historical monuments, such as the Baroque palace converted into the seat of the town hall, are located in the centre.

A witness to history, Santa Bárbara Castle is a must visit to appreciate Alicante from its privileged panoramic views.

The Port of Alicante, in the heart of the city, has become a pleasant leisure centre for its inhabitants and tourists. From there you can travel with regular lines to Ibiza or Mallorca.

Gastronomy has an important place in the typical dish, from tardeo for tapas or refined to the flavours of the Mediterranean.

Welcome home in the sun!
